On Day 1:
We learnt about the Animals getting Mummified and the ingreediance.
On Day2:
We learnt about the make-up they put on.We went to the Gallerry.
On Day 3:
We made something with clay ,we made bracelets and we got
scrapbooks.

On Day 4:
We went to the CLC and we made a short video clip and we typed in a Blog.

Grace in the Museum

I went to the British Museum and watched a film about mummies, and how to see inside them with computers. Then we talked about animals in Egypt such as cats, cows, crocodiles, hippos, lions and jackals. In the afternoon we went to the Petrie museum where we saw a statue of a hippopotamus and crocodiles. There was also a skeleton! We went back to the British Museum and and made a hook (to get brains out of a head) out of clay.

On Friday we dressed up as Egyptians, and also put Egyptian make up on. Then we went to the gallery. In the afternoon we watched another film about digging in Egypt.

On monday we went to the galleries where the mummy section is and we drew pictures of things that we wanted to put in our scrapbooks. Then we went back and had play. Later on worked on our scrapbooks and cut out the pictures from the galleries and stuck them our books.

In the afternoon we made pyramid books. The drew on papyrus but I went with Richard to go around the monument gallery and look for statues with hieroglyphs.

Today I went on the computer in the CLC. We wrote about what we did at Mummified in a blog and also made a podcast.

on thursday petrie museum egyptian we saw pots and jewellery artifacts and this showed us how the Egyptians lived. On friday people were put on Egyptian clothes and make up then we went to the park and we took are punlunch and we had food out side On friday a lady came and we was waching a filim about how people made pots in Egyptian times and excuvating a tomb. We started to put our scrap books together in the classroom. On monday we done are scrap book we had to get aspen sail and a dariy .then we went to the Egyptian On monday we done puricimig.then we went home.then we came to clc and went on the computer.then we had lunch then came backon the coputer.

On Thursday 26th I have been to the British museum and I went to the ICT room and watch a film on mummies and how they were unwrapped using a 3D scanner to find out the make up of what was inside the bandages. and then I made amulets and a bracelet.

We also drew onto papyrus. We made a paper pyramid and amulets. At the museum I saw Ginga the mummy.

We also visited the Petrie Museum where I saw lots of pots and skeletons. I saw a sarcophagus.

On Thursday we went to watch a video on mummies. In the afternoon we made a clay model of a beetle. The beetle was a scarab, it belongs to the God Ra.

On Friday we had the priest we dressed as Egyptian people.

On Monday we went to the Egyptian room.After brake we stuck pictures of Egyptian staf in the afternoon we made a papyrus picture.

Today we was doing our own blog.

On Friday we went down to a room and saw two Egypian priests, then we sat down on the chairs .The priests gave us some things to look at which we passed around .we passed around Egypian perfume, papyrus,Egypian earing and a necklace which Egypian thought was lucky for them becouse it had a special bead on .Afterthat some of us got dressedup then some people put some makeup on next we took the makeup and dress of.when it was break time we got a bit overexited we did not line up so we missed breaktime.Afterthat we got in group`s and went around the gallery`s and looked at anciant things (anciant things or somthing from a long time ago) when we finished we got our lunch and went outside .I made two new freind`s.Then we went to a room and met a man he told us about how to reconize things from olden days to morden life then he gave us some papers to put in a timeline. When we finished that we drew in our scrapbook when we finished our parents came and we went khome.on Tuesday we came to the clc (city learning centre) we got a computer each and then

we wrote about what we did on all the days we came to the British museum.on the computer we made a talking video with pictures and our voice was recorded.

Levi's week to see the Mummies

On Thursday 26 July 2007 I went to British Museum where we looked at Mummies.

At the Petrie Museum we saw a Mummy who was 5000 years old.

We saw coffins and other things.

Friday we started our scrap books and a preist told us about mummificaiton

We looked the clothes and make up from Egyptian times

Monday we took a final look around the British musuem and finished our scrap books

Chris go to museum

For four days I went to the British Museum. It was really fun. I liked it when we went we had to find 5 objects to do with hieroglyphics in the monument gallery on Monday and got to go to the Petrie museum.

I met lots of new friends like Levi, ciaran, Lawrence, Kai and M.J and when we dress up I was king Pharaoh.

I learnt that they put hooks up the their nose to take their brain , liver and intestines and put them in jars. The Egyptians thought the brain didn't do any think they thought the heart was the soul.

On Friday a man an a women came in and we got to dress up and put makeup on and in the afternoon we saw a video about excavating a tomb. After that we did some activities by putting old stuff in chronological order. Then we talked to an archaeologist.

On Monday we went round the museum and drew pictures of stuff in the museum.We did some work in our scrap books.

On Tuesday we went to the CLC and we did our podcast and a blog. With photo story I got 6 photos, I then i added short sentences and then i added music and between each picture i put transitions.

Thursday 26Th July 2007~At the British Museum we were learning about the ancient Egyptians. We went to the Petrie museum ,where we found out about mummies ,amulets and jewels.

Friday 27Th July 2007~We were looking at costumes of the Egyptians and we made scrapbooks. I also made a bracelet.There was a man and a lady who where dressed up as egyptians and they talked about egypt(ians).

Monday 30Th July 2007~We made pieces of papyrus and we finished off our scrapbooks.

Tuesday 1st August 2007~We met up at the City Learning Centre to do a blog and a podcast with photos,music,writing and voices.

on the 26th of july at the museum a man named Paul taught us in the I.C.T room .he showed us slideshow's about how Eygptians die and i learned that if an Eygptian die someone gets a hook and throws it throus w there ear and brings out some of there inside propities. they wrap the mummys body and every thing and burryied the body later on they in the afternoon they took us to the petrie museum and took clip board and went round the gallery and drawed pictures of statues and other things.I saw Eygptian jellery and unwrapped mummys and a head of an unwrapped mummy that had a wig on it. I drawed a picture of a skeleton and a square rock that had a picture of a man and it had writing on it.we came back from the petrie museum and some people wanted to make mummys by clay,some wanted to draw in there scrap books and some made braclets. I chose to do the braclets. there was a blue beetle and once someone said to me that the beetle gives good luck so take it where ever you go.When i made a braclets the string we use to put the jellery in was made out of wax so the jellery stays there.We made hoop shapes on the wax and do a not soyou can turn it into anything.

On Thursday we went to the Petrie Museum and watched a DVD on what a mummy looked like inside when it was in its casket with the help of a scan taken at a hospital.My best day was Friday when we saw some of the children dress up in Egyptian clothes and the preist told us about mummification. We also started our scrap books and listened to the lady talk about discovering tombs and finding Egyptian atrefacts. We looked at some papyrus paper which are made from leaves. On Friday there was a lady who showed us what the Egyptians did when they used make up.

On Monday in the afternoon we made papyrus scrolls and we took them home. Tuesday we made our blog and put together a slide show
using Photostory 3.

On Thursday.

We were in the ICT room watching a film about life and death. Making amulet and bracelet. Watched another movie about animals getting mummified and the animals are important to Egyptian later on we when to the Petrie Museum and draw artifaces

On Friday I saw two people, one was a priest and one was a wealthy egyptian lady, they told us about mummies and gods. Afterwards we put on costume and make-up.

We went into the galleries later and looked at mummies. I saw an unwrapped mummy which had pots around her. I also saw more pottery and jewellery.

After lunch we saw a video about egyptian archaeology, people who worked in Egypt in the tombs. Afterwards we looked at objects and we had to put them in order - old to modern - with the help of written descriptions.

On Monday we drew pictures of objects in the galleries. We had scrap books which we then stuck our pictures in.

We had our lunch outside the British Museum. After lunch I played a game with my friends and sister.

Katharine a lady from the museum talked to us about mummies. She talked about how they were buried in pyramids. She said that films showed lots of mazes in side but she said this was not true.

We made a little pyramid book and made a papyrus scroll.On Tuesday I went to clc and I was on the computer.After we had a brake and then we was on the computer.After lunch we went on the computer until home time

On Thursday I went to the Petrie museum. We looked at Egyptian jewellery and animals within Egyptian society. Egyptians have lots of different animals that they worshipped, like crocodiles, hippos and cats.

Later that day I made a bracelet with lots of coloured and silver beads.

On friday we got dressed up and we worshipped the pharaoh

On Thursday I went to British museum to do the mummified project and I met lot new friends like, Yasmin, Husna and in the afternoon we went to the Petrie museum as archaeologists. Also in the morning we watch a video about mummy and I made a bracelet and in the Petrie museum we saw a pot, a mummy with hair.

On friday we had makeup and costumes activity.
In the afternoon we saw a video about excavating a tomb.

On monday we went round the museum and drew our favourite picture. And we finish our scrap books.

On tuesday we went to south camden clc and potcast and blog and photo story with 6 photo, Then I added short sentences and added music to it.

On the first day I walked to the British museum on Thursday .The first thing we did was watched a movie in the computer. The movie was about Mummy's being unwrapped but it ruins it. On Thursday I came and met Hannah and Gary and, I had met Bekki before. Paul took us to the ict room and showed us a DVD on mummies and how they unwrapped them without damaging it. then we went to play came back and went to see animals with Bekki. then we went to lunch we came back and went to the Petrie museum. At petrie museum we took a pencil and a paper then started drawing jewellery then we came back .Friday we listened to the priest talk about mummification and saw how people dressed in Egyptian times . A lady talked about discovering the tombs and discovering Egyptian artefacts.
On Monday we drew on Papyras paper and finished our scrap books to take home.
On Tuesday we started our blog @ the CLC and put together a slide show on Photostory3.

On Thursday 26 of July I went to the British museum.Thursday was may first day at the museum and we met up at the British museum.Gary guided us.Firstly we were welcomed in and we saw a guy called Paul and we watched a film on archaeology and mummies. Then we went to the Petrie museum in theafternoon to have a look at pots,jewellery and more.We made braclets and we got our scrapbooks.

Friday:On Friday the 27 of July we visited the gallery and looked at artefacts with Katherine like sarcophagus,mummiesand more.We saw a lady called Shahena who was telling us about archaeologists.We did dressing up ,make up and more.

Monday:On Monday 30 of July it was a very busy day we made inscriptions on papyrus. We also finished our scrap books and had a final look round the museum.

Tuesday :On Tuesday the 31 of July we came to the clc to do as we say a flim about the British museum what we did and more.

On Thursday 26 .I went to the British museum and the group went to the Ict room to watch a DVD about mummies . We had a break and then we went inside to the Petrie museum and we then took a look at animals in ancient Egypt. They wrapped them up so that the jackals couldn't take them away.
We had lunch and afterwards we made an amulet.Friday the preist told us about mummification and we learned what clothes people would wear in Egyptian times.

On the first day Thursday I couldn't wait to meet my friends like Ciaran and Kai the first thing I did was go to the Petrie museum and we went at the top Floor we went to see some bracelets,amulets and skeletons.

after we came back from the Petrie museum we went down stairs to the theatre and we made animals out of clay after that we went out side the British Museum to have our lunch and play arond after that we went back inside then we went home.

On Thursday,
we went to a place called Mummified, i new it will be good because their was another one called the building detectives. One Thursday...we introduced are self in the British museum(that's where we stayed)then we saw this man called Paul he went on a big computer he said"how do you look into a mummy you cant break it open It would be ruined. Well i took a mummy to the doctor and x-rayed it in different ways so we could look into it Even into its body Even into its flesh and its bones. we looked at a mummy that had a hole in its skull the hole was bigger on the out side than the inside and he told us how to mummify you scoop out the brain and put it in a pot.and that's only a little bit and i think i know there was a whole was in the skull because maybe by while he was scooping out the brain he hit the person on the skull so a whole came and i thought of that, yes i know I'm clever
One Friday we went to a museum called the Petrie museum it had lots of pots not only Egyptian ones Greek too one piece of stone had my name on it and we did sketches of artifacts.one monday we got are own papirus we got to draw on it.right now im making this blog hope you ingoy it.

shikarna's days with the mummies

On Thursday the 26th July we went to the British Museum where a man showed us a video about when he went to the hospital and scanned a mummy. We went to the theatre and we learned that when mummies pass away they will have to have their brain taking out. The mummies believe that they think with their heart not their brain. They even have to take out their lungs, liver, stomach,intestines. In the afternoon we went to the Petrie museum and drew and wrote about what the Egyptians pots was really good to use in Egypt. We went back to the British museum and went home.

On Friday when we came to the British museum we made Jewellery. We made it out of clay and we looked at the Jewellery that we drew at the Petrie museum.In Egypt the Pharaohs have loads on Jewellery to show how rich they were and that they are a very important person.On Monday we had a early play and we went to the gallery and we had to split up in groups.Gary was my leader.We got a book and we had to find the stuff in it round the museum.We had to find important stuff like gold rings, a baboon, a monkey and loads more other stuff.

On Monday we got scrap books with Egyptians stuff inside and we learned how to write our names in Egypt language

ciaran's mummy week

On Thursday the first day I was looking forward to seeing my friends like Joseph and I made some new friends like Christopher, Karmen, Elmo and Levi (I knew Levi since nursery). Then we made models out of clay. I made a scarab beetle and I made a scrapbook and put lots of information in it. I was sitting with my friends of COURSE. And we also went to a theatre and I learnt that animals can also be mummified. isn't that amazing! But i wonder how did they get bird.I saw different pics of animals like dogs,cats,hippos and many more at lunch time I had lovely FOOD and we played bulldog. I really liked that but there was much more interesting stuff. After lunch we went to the Petrie museum i enjoyed looking at objects and we had to draw. i am not very good at drawing I drew a rubbish picture of a skeleton.

On the next day Friday a WEIRD man came and women came in and the man never smiled or laughed he did not have a sense of hummer that was a OK day but not as good as Thursday

We did not do the club on the weekend and so I could have the weekend OFF!

On Monday we drew in the gallery and then we did are scrapbooks and the most funniest thing

was doing the papyrus that was a very good day best so far.

On Tuesday we went to the CLC and first we did blogs what Im doing NOW then we had lunch and then we did voice recording that was FUN this was the best day.

Thursday.

We were learning about how valuable animals were to Egypt in there everyday lives and religion. Paul, one of the staff at the British Museum gave us a talk about mummies, and how the Egyptians mummified the bodies.

We went to the Petrie Museum, part of University College London, to look at the Egyptian jewellery and anything with animals in it, for instance, amulets/statues and figures.

I made a scarab beetle amulet out of clay. Scarab's are the animal of the sun god Ra associated with live.

Friday.

We saw 2 people who were dressed up as Egyptians - one was a priest and the other was a wealthy lady. We looked at objects - a real bit of the papyrus reed, the salt used to mummifiy bodies and jewellery. The girls and some boys had there egyptian eye make-up put on. The black liner protects from the glare of the sun. Some of us dressed up as egyptians in costume.

We went into the Egyptian galleries and looked at mummies and objects. In one of the cases we saw this body which was all curled up and it was called Ginger.

After lunch we watched another video about people who were finding egyptian objects in tombs in Egypt. We then looked at objects, we had to match some writing to the objects on our table so we knew what they were

Monday

We did our scrapbooks and sketched some of the mummies and artefacts in the gallery.

We made a little book on Egypt and pyramid book. We made a papyrus scroll with a mummy in the middle and stuff that we liked around it. We rolled it up and put a pipe cleaner around it to keep it safe and so it looked like a scroll.

Tuesday

We went to the CLC (City Learning Centre) and we wrote about all the stuff we had done in this blog. We made a slide show with music and voices so we can show others what we have done.
